Our September Mission is for ShelterBox.  The mission of ShelterBox is to build awareness of global displacement and to facilitate providing families with life-saving shelter and essential tools and supplies that will enable them to rebuild their homes and transform their lives after disaster. Since 2000, ShelterBox has helped over 2 million people by providing emergency shelter following more than 300 disasters in nearly 100 counties.    Your generosity is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Our October Mission of the Month Collection will benefit The MoonCatcher Project.  Since 2011 The MoonCatcher Project has been making reusable, washable menstrual management kits – “MoonCatcher Kits” – for distribution to girls around the world, along with a menstrual and reproductive health curriculum. They provide the information and supplies they need to manage menstruation with dignity and confidence, increasing their chances of staying in school.

Our SiCM collection for October will be feminine supplies.  These necessities are not included in SNAP allotments and are essential. Also very costly, especially on a fixed income.  Thank you for your continued support of SiCM and its commitment to Schenectady.

Ms. Lorraine, who runs the personal care section of SiCM’s Food Pantry, takes donated diapers, feminine products, toothbrushes, laundry and dish detergent etc. and packages them for individual use. She ALWAYS needs used bottles for her projects.  Do you have used ensure or boost bottles that you can donate?  NRC will be collecting these bottles for Ms. Lorraine as she continues to serve her patrons.

Items can be placed in the blue bins found in the Education Building, near the building entrance downstairs.  Ellen is in the office on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-3.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!
