Welcome Back to Sunday School!

Posted on

The Fall Session of Sunday School will begin this Sunday, Homecoming Sunday, September 10.  Students will attend worship with their families until the Junior Sermon, after which they are dismissed to go to the Education Building.  Teachers and Superintendents will be on hand outside of the church to help the children find their classrooms.

Our classes are divided as follows:

  • Nursery (infant – age 3) in Room 102-A
  • Pre-K/Kindergarten/Grade 1 (ages 4-6) in the Nursery School Room, 101
  • Grades 2/3 in Room 102-B
  • Grades 4/5 in the Music Room (section 3 of Fellowship Hall)
  • Grades 6-8 (Middle School) in Room 103-C
  • Grades 9-12 (High School) in Section 2 of Fellowship Hall

On September 10, teachers will provide Enrollment Forms for each child, along with a Calendar and other information, for parents.  To save time, enrollment can be completed online as well at  https://www.niskayunareformed.org/education/sunday-school/sunday-school-enrollment/

We will again be using the “Walk with Me” curriculum for our Sunday School lessons, along with special activities and projects as noted in our Sunday School Calendar that will be handed out on Sunday.

To ensure the safety of our children and volunteers, the Niskayuna Reformed Church operates all children’s programs under the Child Protection Policy.  All adults who work with children and youth are trained annually according to the Niskayuna Reformed Church Child Protection Guidelines.

We are so grateful for those who have volunteered to serve as teachers, assistants, substitutes and superintendents for the Fall session.  In order to ensure that each group has at least two adults supervising, we are always looking for additional volunteers to help in this way, especially as we already look ahead to the Winter and Spring sessions.  Please contact the Church Office if this is something with which you could help.

For any questions about our Christian Education Program, please contact Trudy Lehner, Sunday School Coordinator and Consistory Co-Chair of the Christian Education Committee (tflehner@aol.com), or Tony Pechulis, Committee Co-Chair (anthonypechulis@gmail.com)

We’re looking forward to another year of deepening our children’s faith in God.
