Get ready for Sunday School Lesson #3!

Posted on

It was wet this past Sunday, both indoors and out.  The children heard the parable of “The Wise and Foolish Builders,” and found out what happens to houses that are built on rocks, as opposed to those built on sand.  The wind and rain storm created indoors flattened the hastily built house on the sand, just as Jesus reminded us will happen to those who don’t take his teachings seriously.   Jesus told us:  “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

Thank you to Mrs. Trudy Lehner for leading the lesson, and Mrs. Sue Felpel for assisting.

The three remaining lessons of this Summer Sunday School session will focus on the following parables:

July 29:  The Great Banquet – Mrs. Ellie van Pelt (assisted by Mrs. Maureen Rizzi)

This is a parable about the kingdom of God, into which God invites many different kinds of people, not just a select few “chosen” ones.  While so different, we are all the same – in need of a Savior.

August 5:    The Lost Son – Mrs. Suzi O’Brien (assisted by Mrs. Maureen Rizzi)

August 12:   The Good Samaritan – Mrs. Suzi O’Brien  (assisted by Ms. Michele Kopp)

The children will attend the worship service beginning at 9:30 a.m. and will move to Room 104 in the Education Building for the lessons at about  9:45 a.m, and concluding at 10:30 a.m.  Children from ages 4 – Grade 8 are invited to attend whenever family schedules allow.
