Our September Communion Collection is going to be designated to Lakeview Community Church. For over fifty years, Lakeview Community Church has been serving the lakefront community of Greece, New York, providing a place of worship where anyone can meet with God and everyone is welcome. They actively help in their local food distribution centers and are proud to be a part of the community. They are known as “The Little Church with a Big Heart.” This last winter, their boiler began to show signs of serious wear. On a few Sundays everyone in the church had to keep on their coats, scarves, and hats, just to stay warm while the boiler was repaired. After several smaller repairs, they realized that a full upgrade to the heating system was needed. This new system will also be much more energy efficient. The total cost of the heating upgrade, including possible asbestos removal, will be around $40,000. Lakeview is an RCA church within the bounds of Rochester Classis. They have already set aside $20,000 for a new boiler, and have asked for help with the other half.
