What’s the Pink Envelope for?

Posted on

Niskayuna Reformed Church InscriptionOnce each month you will find a pink envelope in your offering box.  It’s labeled “My offering for Our Church Heritage Fund.”

The NRC Heritage Fund is earmarked for larger facilities and property-related projects that are outside of the routine property maintenance that is covered in our general operating budget.  In effect, this fund is intended to help us preserve the physical HERITAGE that has been passed down to us from earlier members of our congregation.  This includes our Sanctuary, dating from 1852 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  It also includes our Education Building, completed in 2005, as well as our two parsonages.

As you can imagine, there are always projects on the horizon.  Just last year we did significant upgrades to the main parsonage before Jason and Jennifer joined us.  We also undertook a major renovation project at the second parsonage later in the year.  This in addition to new gutters for the Education Building, a new roof on the red barn, cutting down some trees and branches … and you can see how important these funds are to have.

We are fortunate that those who came before us were mindful of keeping up with what needed to be done, and it’s up to us to continue this tradition so that this wonderful Heritage can continue to exist for those who come after us.

Thank you for using the PINK envelope to make your important contributions to our Heritage Fund each month.
