Hey NRC youth & families! We know you’re excited for summer to finally begin. Well Pastor Sherri, Tiffanie, and I are equally excited to invite you to join in a special summer service event just for you! This year, instead of a mission trip outside of our area, we are inviting you to participate in a variety of service projects right here in our own community. We are calling it “Youth Summer Service Week.” Beginning with our kick-off event on Sunday evening, June 30th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Parsonage we will continue throughout the week with a variety of projects and activities, concluding on July 5th.
We would love to have you join us for the whole week, but we know that each child and family has different obligations and activities during the summer. So, if you can sign up for the week that would be great, or if you can sign up for a couple of activities, or even one, that would be great too! The information on what we will be doing and when is in the calendar below. Some of these activities might change as details are still being worked out, but for the most part this is how the week will look. We would love to invite all ages to participate, but the dinner at the Schenectady City Mission does have an age limit of 10 and up. Also, please note that two of our events are limited in the number of people we are permitted to bring. (FYI: The City Mission requires a separate volunteer sign-up form that we will send to those who sign up for either of those events).

Then we will offer any remaining spots to our congregation members. Those who sign up for one or more activities will also receive a free T-shirt so please be sure to indicate your T-shirt size. Sunday – June 30th – Youth Summer of Service Week Kick-Off – Ice Cream Social, Devotions, and Games – 4pm – 6pm at the NRC Parsonage!
Monday – July 1st – Sycamore Collaborative Vale Urban Farm – 9:00am to 12pm.
Tuesday – July 2nd – Schenectady City Mission Donation Center 1pm – 3pm. – Limit 8 People
Wednesday – July 3rd – Serving Dinner at The Schenectady City Mission – 4:30 – 6:30pm. 10 yrs. and up.
Thursday – July 4th – Pack Bags/Make Cards for Church Shut-ins 9:00am – 11:00am.
Friday – Deliver Bags and Visit Shut-ins – Lunch Cook Out Celebration. 9:00am – 2:00pm.
