October Mission & Service

Posted on

Our Mission of the Month Collection for October will benefit Mom Starts Here—a community-based organization that walks with Capital Region Families along their pregnancy journey, providing support for their internal and external needs and enabling parents to show up their best for themselves and their children.  Their concern is putting babies and children first by supporting their parents and providing essential baby items as well as parenting classes, life coaching and resource navigation.  To learn more please visit www.momstartshere.org.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

SiCM donations for the month of October will be feminine products.  These are always in demand given their high cost and consistent demand.  Thank you for your continued support of the pantry’s community goals.

We have the opportunity once again to help the Schenectady City Mission serve dinner at their site, located at 512 Smith Street, Schenectady, NY 12305.  Our church has committed to provide 8 volunteers on Friday evening, October 20th.  Volunteers work from 4:30-6:30, reviewing instructions, setting up, taking orders, serving tables and cleaning up.  Dinner hour is from 5-6.  Comfortable walking shoes, head (ex-baseball cap) are required. Gloves and aprons are provided.  Children 10 or older are welcome to help, provided they are accompanied by a parent/adult.  Our Mission and Service committee is hoping this can become a monthly event.
